VAIKOM BLOCK- MAP
Vaikom Block Panchayat is situated in the north-western part of Kottayam District in the state of Kerala. It lies within the historic Vaikom Taluk and forms part of the central Kerala backwater region, characterized by its extensive network of canals, rivers, wetlands, and the eastern shoreline of Vembanad Lake, the largest lake in Kerala. The Block Panchayat serves as an important rural administrative unit under the three-tier Panchayati Raj system and comprises six Grama Panchayats—Vechoor, Thalayazham, T.V. Puram, Maravanthuruthu, Udayanapuram, and Chempu.
